East Quogue Students Spread Kindness
Throughout the month of December, East Quogue Elementary School first-grade students spread the spirit of generosity as they collectively participated in activities benefiting others.
The first-grade students took part in multiple community service initiatives as they engaged in random acts of kindness around the building. They created necklaces for faculty and staff members and gathered a collection of socks to be donated to local senior citizens.
Continuing December’s theme of generosity, students created bookmarks in art class that they then included in letters to first-graders at the Helen Jydstrup Elementary School in Las Vegas, Nevada. Along with their letters, the East Quogue students included stuffed “Reading Bears” and books to share their love for reading with their new student buddies.
