East Quogue Elementary School students in Ms. Luckingham’s third-grade class recently explored the capabilities of Google Classroom as they used the program to write about their goals for the new year.
During the assignment students practiced essential aspects of the Google Classroom program, such as creating a text box, and typing and changing fonts. Students also learned how to insert, resize and crop photos to fit within their documents.
In another interactive activity, Ms. Luckingham’s third-grade students teamed up with Ms. Russo’s first-graders for a holiday-themed STEM activity. The students’ task was to design and construct a bridge capable of supporting an elf. Utilizing Popsicle sticks and clay, the student teams worked together to create functional shelves to hold their elves.
Each team excelled during the activity as they incorporated problem-solving techniques and revisited their designs to make improvements.
