Spring has set the stage for East Quogue Elementary School students to begin a number of fitness activities as part of the physical education curriculum.

In addition to the spring sports baseball and lacrosse, coaches Matthew Maloney and Danielle Davin have introduced the morning fitness program for students in third through sixth grade coined Fitness Mania. The goal of the program that extends through May is to increase student agility, endurance, speed and strength through multiple, challenging exercise activities. Students visit several fitness stations before ending each session with an engaging game.

The program promotes an increased level of focus as students prepare for the school day.
