Recently, students throughout the East Quogue Elementary School have participated in several exciting lessons and activities that support curriculum concepts in an engaging way.

Second-grade students in Marrisa Thompson’s class worked alongside fifth-graders to complete the Marshmallow Tower Challenge. Working together, the student groups attempted to design and construct the tallest tower. In another activity, student teacher Allison Iovino helped strengthen second-graders’ math skills in Susan Masera’s class playing the “I have, who has” game using listening skills and quick knowledge of addition facts to 20.

Additionally, Masera’s students used their knowledge of properties of matter to create edible turkeys with their STEAM buddies.
