A Magical Performance

The Drama Club performed the legendary musical “The Little Mermaid” on March 7 in the school cafetorium. Director Penni Russo reported that this year’s cast of 65 student thespians delivered a performance like no other.

Auditions for the show were held in October, and students and crew perfected their acting skills along the way. Superintendent of Schools and Principal Michael Miller said the students were extremely talented. “Broadway will be calling for these stars,” he said.

Prior to the show, the district offered an immersive experience with a fairytale atmosphere. Students and community members who attended the production engaged in activities related to “The Little Mermaid” theme, which were designed to set the stage for the big event – the musical itself – and to put the audience in the mood.

The show’s success was also due to the efforts of Ms. Russo, Mrs. Baltazar, Mrs. Prisco-Kerns, Ms. Rosenberg, Ms. Schmitt, Mrs. Jarzombeck, Mrs. Najdzio, Mrs. Hogan, the PTA and all of the parent/guardian support for this great performance.
