Hosted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Patriot’s Pen contest for students in grades 6-8 requires entrants to write a 300-400 word essay which explores the year’s current theme. The theme for 2024-2025 is “My Voice in America’s Democracy,” and students were encouraged to explore the concept of an individual’s voice within the country’s democratic system of government.

Superintendent of Schools and Principal Michael Miller said, “Congratulations to both students, and a special thank you to teacher George Purkis for his dedication to inspiring students to reach their fullest potential.”
