East Quogue students gave a magical performance of “The Wicked Wizard of Oz,” held in the school cafetorium on March 6. The incredible students worked so hard to bring this amazing production to life, and it showed on stage. From the talented cast to the dedicated stage crew and the phenomenal pit band – every moment was spectacular!
The “Wicked Wizard of Oz” was an original script written by the district’s instrumental music and band director Penni Russo. The play intertwined “wicked” and “The Wizard of Oz” with a musical score that includes musical performances from “The Wiz,” as well as various musical selections from “Wicked” and “The Wizard of Oz.” As the cast of characters takes the audience through fun and uncertain adventures, Glinda and Elphaba once again reunite as the story takes twists and turns that keeps the audience entertained.
Thank you to all faculty, staff and community members who supported this production. Your dedication and effort made this unforgettable night possible.
